We evaluate casino bonuses by simulating the outcomes of thousands of deposits to determine the total winnings and the percentage of players that enjoyed those winnings.

In October, we added a few more casinos, and this has seen September’s market leader, Gioco Digitale, tumble to 4th place, with SNAI, Jackpot City, and Betway taking over the podium positions. There is not much separating Betway and Gioco Digitale as the main terms of their bonuses are the same. But SNAI and Jackpot City are offering richer bonus amounts, and SNAI takes first place with the lowest wagering requirement in the market. Take a look at all of the bonuses we are covering for Italy.

SNAI’s 20x wagering requirement meant that an astonishing 29% of depositors were able to clear the bonus. Next best in that regard were Betway at 13.2% and Jackpot City at 13.1%.

Star Vegas fell to 5th place. There 50x wagering requirement winnowing the winners to single digits: barely over 8%.

You can use our simulator to model other bonuses you find in the market. It will run 100 simulations of deposit bonus play-through based on the details provided:

  • Bonus Multiplier
  • Deposit Amount
  • Number of Pay Lines
  • Bet per Pay Line
  • Wagering Requirement
  • Maximum Win (if any)

The simulator will then score the bonus and rank it against all of the other bonuses in the market.

Underneath that simple score there are a few other data points that we think many users will be interested in seeing and understanding. We also provide complete details of each of the simulations for the bonuses we are covering in the market. Any other bonus can also be modelled using our Bonus Simulation Tool – and this will allow users to compare the modelled bonus’ Scaled Sim1000x Score to the market leaders.

Simulation Data

Our simulation models 1000 attempts playing through the iconic slot Cleopatra to determine the number of winners and their balances and the number of spins for each attempt. From this we are able to provide the following data points:

  • Percentage of winners (and losers)
  • Max, min, and average winning balance
  • Max, min, and average spins (“playtime”) for winners, losers, and overall

Key Terms & Conditions

There are a number of important considerations when evaluating any bonus but our simulations have identified the wagering requirement, the maximum win, and the maximum bet as the most important when determining a bonus’ likely value. The wagering requirement is the main determinant in whether or not a player is able to complete a bonus with a positive balance. For the subset of players that are able to complete the wagering requirement, the maximum win condition will prevent many of the balances from being paid out in full. And any maximum bet condition will prevent players from employing certain strategies that are more likely to lead to completing the wagering requirements with a positive balance.

Percentage of Winners and the Winnings v Payout

Ultimately, we look at the percentage of players that make it through with a winning balance and the difference between the bonus balance and the amount of that balance that can be converted to real money to determine our Scaled Sim1000x Score.
